All our headstones are designed in close cooperation with the families. Starting from a range of different shapes and stones we will create a memorial which is a fitting tribute to the deceased.
We are also asked to create artistic memorials which are totally individual in their design. These can take longer to design but the result is a unique design to celebrate the life of a loved one. We will work with you to consider all aspects of the design. This could be a stone type to reflect a particular area, such as Welsh or Cumbrian slate, or a special shape.
Design features could be inspired by a profession, hobbies or other aspects of a person's life. As well as carvings, you could incorporate other features such as glass or ceramic photo plaques. We help guide you through, from your initial outline design ideas through drawings and sketches until your imagined design is realised on paper. There may be a series of unique design drawings prior to the final approved design. We will advise on stone choices that will compliment your design ideas.
This may all sound daunting but don't worry. Our experience working with clients this way has been that their involvement with the memorial can help with the grieving process. Many families find comfort in working this way.
We will, of course, also make sure that the design meets the regulations of the cemetery or churchyard.
